Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Administrative Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met this morning with Tariq Ali Bakhit, Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and his accompanying delegation at the Presidential Palace.
Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, expressed happiness that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has opened its office in Afghanistan and said we will always work closely with you as an active member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Tariq Ali Bakhit, Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the OIC said: “We work with all Islamic countries, especially Afghanistan the spirit of Islamic brotherhood, and therefore we opened our office in Kabul.” He added that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is establishing a fund for Afghanistan that has already been agreed upon, which is managed through the Islamic Bank for Development, which is located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
He said: the mentioned fund will be officially opened in the near future and will be spent on Humanitarian aid, development projects and priorities set by the Islamic Emirate. A delegation of scholars from the Islamic world will also visit Afghanistan in the near future and will hold the necessary consultations with the officials of the Islamic Emirate and the scholars of Afghanistan he said.
Mr. Hanafi appreciated the fund that was created on the initiative of the friendly and brotherly country of Saudi Arabia and the cooperation of the member countries of the OIC.” The new government is committed to ensuring the religious and human rights of Afghans, and it is also our policy to prevent drug trafficking and its use, and we call on the OIC to cooperate with our farmers in the field of alternative cultivation.
At the end of the meeting, the deputy PM emphasized on expanding Afghanistan’s relations and further cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
