In a significant diplomatic engagement, H.E Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, held a pivotal meeting with the Afghan Ambassador Mawlawi Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, key diplomats and Afghan businessmen at the Afghan Embassy in Tehran last evening.
The discussion centered on enhancing the political and economic ties between the Islamic Emirate, neighboring countries and the international community. Key topics included recent advancements in bilateral relations, the situation of Afghan nationals and businessmen residing in Iran.
Ambassador Mawlawi Fazl Mohammad Haqqani underscored his robust relations with Iranian officials and his ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in line with the Islamic Emirate’s policy framework.
Dr. Shamsul Haq Shams and Haji Mohammad Ayub Hussaini, representing Afghan business interests, praised the Islamic Emirate's economic policies. They noted that positive interactions with neighboring countries and other international partners have spurred increased business activity. They highlighted the importance of Afghanistan’s secure environment and Sharia-based economic policies in attracting investment and presented their concerns and proposals to the Deputy Prime Minister for political affairs.
Responding to these discussions, Deputy Prime Minister for political affairs Mawlawi Abdul Kabir reiterated the Islamic Emirate's commitment to cultivating constructive relationships globally, especially with Islamic nations where Afghanistan has diplomatic missions. He emphasized that after the success and rise of the Islamic Emirate, building a self-sufficient Afghanistan remains a top priority, with ongoing efforts to address challenges faced by Afghans both domestically and abroad.
Mawlawi Abdul Kabir also highlighted that Islamic Emirate operates as a distinct and accountable institution, functioning independently from Afghan society while addressing the needs and aspirations of its citizens.
Afghanistan currently enjoying improved security, presents an opportune environment for business and investment. He urged Afghan businessmen to consider investing in their home country.
Looking ahead, the Deputy Prime Minister indicated that the Islamic Emirate is in a favorable political position internationally and regionally, with plans to further expand its diplomatic engagements with some other countries.
At the meeting’s conclusion, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir provided a set of recommendations to Ambassador Mawlawi Fazl Mohammad Haqqani aimed at addressing the concerns of Afghan businessmen and refugees in Iran.
