H.E Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, Deputy PM for Political Affairs, met with Mr. Song Wen Bing, President of the Aynak Copper Contracting Company, and his accompanying delegation.
Mr. Bing remarked that efforts have been accelerated to commence the Aynak Copper Project as soon as possible. He highlighted that numerous mining challenges have been addressed since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, although continued collaboration with the Afghan government remains crucial.
He stated that more than five billion dollars will be invested in the first phase, with initial mining operations expected to start once the road to the site is constructed. The necessary machinery is scheduled for import next year.
Mr. Bing also noted that the project will create jobs for three thousand Afghans and that a group of Afghan will be sent for vocational training in China. He mentioned that historical sites and changes in the mining plan have contributed to delays in the project.
H.E Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs welcomed the President of the Aynak Copper Contracting Company and called the Afghanistan-China relationship beneficial in various fields. He stated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is ready to collaborate to initiate practical work on the project and urged increased efforts to prevent delays.
Deputy Prime Minister assured the Aynak Copper Contracting Company that the relevant authorities will take action to address their concerns.
